The same thing happened when I put a new/used tach in our car, it also has an
electronic ignition, not sure if that is the reason for the x2 reading. Take it
out and disassemble it so you can drill a hole in the back of the case. That
will allow you to get at the variable resistor and adjust it so it will read
something like right. There is a good description of how to do this on the Tiger
web site. I do not have a external tach to use as a comparison so just adjusted
it for about 1k at idle. I think it is high at cruising speed, the things are
notoriously inaccurate, but it does not peg anymore. Now I just need to get
brave enough to tackle the ten mile an hour bounce in the speedometer. jim 66SV
