All,
  as a displaced Virginian, I have grown tired of California and am
looking to move back to the East coast, anywhere along the eastern
seaboard, preferably in the south.  Unfortunately, I work in a rather
specialized field (college law enforcement administration) and work is
not easy to find since I am not a sworn peace officer.  I am currently
the Assistant Director of Campus Safety for a university of about 3500
students and run a patrol division of 12 officers and 6 student staff. 
I have a BA in Psychology and am also a certified audio engineer
(though I've not done that in awhile).  The death of our landlord is
forcing us to move soon.  We have sworn off buying a home in the hopes
of moving (and values here have recently jumped).   Also, I do not wish
to raise my children in SoCal.
  So, I am appealing to all East coast 'Beamers who may have advice or
resources for me to obtain a job.  I am 37, married with two kids, so
you can get an idea of the salary I need.  I'm currently making 38K,
which in LA ain't much, so I'm easy to please.  I can provide a resume
if anyone is interested.  I am highly motivated and willing to change
careers (have always fantasized about making my hobby my business or
working for some SEMA member Co.).  I have experience in sales.  I am
currently studying IS/IT networking for a CCNA (Cisco Certified Network
Administrator), but am very early in the program.  Any help would be
much appreciated.
Sorry to spam the list with this, but I am sure you all can related to
these kinds of needs/concerns.
