All,
as a displaced Virginian, I have grown tired of California and am
looking to move back to the East coast, anywhere along the eastern
seaboard, preferably in the south. Unfortunately, I work in a rather
specialized field (college law enforcement administration) and work is
not easy to find since I am not a sworn peace officer. I am currently
the Assistant Director of Campus Safety for a university of about 3500
students and run a patrol division of 12 officers and 6 student staff.
I have a BA in Psychology and am also a certified audio engineer
(though I've not done that in awhile). The death of our landlord is
forcing us to move soon. We have sworn off buying a home in the hopes
of moving (and values here have recently jumped). Also, I do not wish
to raise my children in SoCal.
So, I am appealing to all East coast 'Beamers who may have advice or
resources for me to obtain a job. I am 37, married with two kids, so
you can get an idea of the salary I need. I'm currently making 38K,
which in LA ain't much, so I'm easy to please. I can provide a resume
if anyone is interested. I am highly motivated and willing to change
careers (have always fantasized about making my hobby my business or
working for some SEMA member Co.). I have experience in sales. I am
currently studying IS/IT networking for a CCNA (Cisco Certified Network
Administrator), but am very early in the program. Any help would be
much appreciated.
Sorry to spam the list with this, but I am sure you all can related to
these kinds of needs/concerns.
