Hey, come on you guys. Bob is a guy who REALLY loves the cars, and has
three of them himself. He's also been extremely active in providing me,
and others, with the benefit of his years of experience with them. If
anyone is entitled to an opinion, it's him.

I think it's safe to say that it's ALWAYS a shame when we lose an old
car to the folks who would improve it, and sometimes the changes are
almost monstrous! I once saw a Mercedes Gullwing Coupe with rear fins
and Thunderbird-type hoods over the headlights. Of course, these things
are a matter of taste, and I guess someone actually liked this car at
one time.

I say this, but at the same time, I am currently restoring a pair of
50's Sunbeams, and I've already installed a Series V tranny in my '54
Alpine. I know that Bob disapproves, but I can live with it, and so can
he. This is an unmoderated list, and I prefer it that way. I also
prefer it that Bob NOT keep his opinions to himself - they are far too
valuable, even if they don't coincide with yours.
