If the noise gets worse with the clutch depressed while in gear, then its not
the transmision.
could be pilot bearing, or something to do with the clutch.
some clutch setups are tolerant to having the disc installed backwards, when
they are not
tollerant, the sprung hub rubs against the flywheel, and the clutch wont
release.
I doubt that is the problem here.
