Thats an interesting article and a site worth visiting, I was the proud
possessor of a 1960 series 2 Super Snipe for a short while, it really went
like a rocket in a straight line, but was a real doorhandle scraper on
corners. It would effortlessly cruise all day at 70+ mph , which didn't go
down too well with the plods in the days of the 50mph speed limit. Ahh...
those were the days, big plump leather seats and a forest worth of walnut
all around, quiet, and just floating over the potholes - it couldn't last, I
swapped it for a VW beetle which in turn got swapped for the series 4 Rapier
that still eats my wage packet.
Alas the big Humbers are a vanishing breed here, demolition derbys have
claimed many of them, their ability to absorb incredible amounts of damage
and still keep going made them the weapon of choice.
Are they still seen on Aussie roads Russell?
