I agree with Ian on the plates. I have 5 S1s and 1 S2 of the 6 cars most have 
screws holding the big aluminum specs plate. The body oval plate is held on 
by rivets. One thing that I haven't seen mentioned is that there is the 
proper car number metal stamp punched into the bodies of the S1 & S2 Alpines. 
All six of my early cars have it. Where is it? Right side under hood, on the 
raised metal lip below the firewall top area where the body tag is. Look 
between the fender support and the r/s edge of the fender. It may be hard to 
see as it could be filled with paint but it is there. This is the defininate 
proof of vehicle VIN for early series cars that are missing the engine and 
specs plate. Sorry no info on paint codes are there just car number. Let me 
know what all of you find.
