I would look into one of the suppliers for the retro fitting of a/c into 
Street Rods.  Pick up a "Street Rodder" or similar magazine to get a source.  
May be a bit of a problem with plumbing and R-12.  Go with R-134A.

How/why did Hagerty pay that claim when your 30 year old son was driving your 
car?  He would not covered under your policy, would he?
As I work as a claim adjuster, you should WRITE to them with all your info 
again and request a written reply.  Underwriting is their only way of 
limiting their exposure (prior to a claim), so I would ask for a copy of 
their underwriting guidelines.  If you still don't get a reply, contact your 
state's insurance commissioner (they are always driving us nuts...)
