Seems to me that I remember hearing that painting during a cloudy/moist day
can cause the paint itself to be not so sharp and dulled. Considering that
England has lots of cloudy/moist days, their "gloss" painted in the 60's
with 60's paint may really come out as a "semi" color by our standards.
