What about the power brake booster? If the seals have gone, the booster can
leak internally, but you should have noticed it: the excess fluid in the
booster will be sucked via the carb vacuum line and burned thru the carbs.
producing white smoke not unlike a 007 smoke screen option!!!

I would agree Loren Smith's statement and I don't think it has anything to do
with a sunny day either. These parts were never intended to be a "High Gloss".
