Milestones:
1952 Original design work on the 20TS project starts. Styling is done by W. Belgrove and at first a modified Standard Nine frame is used.
Oct 52 First showing at the London Earls Court Motor Show of the 75 bhp prototype
Winter 52/53 Major redesign, new frame, 90 bhp engine, named TR2
Jul 53 Assembly of long door version starts with Co.No TS1 at Canley factory. Body is built by Mulliners Ltd in Birmingham.
Oct 54 Introduction of short door modell with hard top and wire wheel option
Oct 55 TR2 line ends at TS8636 with 8628 cars delivered.
