Glen writes I've heard from a couple of sources that GM is trying to
buy the rights for the
215/3-litre V8 back from Rover and that Rover doesn't want to sell.
Why on earth would GM want to buy back a 40 year old design when it has
far superior products in it's current line up? The Olds 3.5 V8 for
example, together with a fine range of V6's, plus lot's more on the
drawing board no doubt.
It's unlikely that the old 215 variants will see much more use anyway,
it has already been replaced by the BMW motor in many uses, so if
requested, Ford would be stupid not to sell it.
