Hello All,
Got a neat little letter from BMW today that I thought that I would share
with
you all. It was an advertisment to have an 'ultimate driving experience'. Its
basically some kinda of weeklong BMW car fair in the candlestick ballpark
parking lot. The cool thing is a FREE 2.5 hour autocross driving course taught
by professional driving instructors. And the even better thing is you do it in
their new X5 SUV... Now, most people know how I feel about SUV's .. But now
I get to trash one around an autocross course for a couple of hours!! Woo-hoo!
Mostly I am hoping that I will pick up skills that will help me beat the pants
off Calspeed!!!!!!!!
They also have a 'skidpad' where they will let you turn off the
traction controll of the X5 and do out-of-control skids!!!! This skill might
come
in handy for Calspeed and Dennis ;)
Oh, I also signed up for a long testride of the Z3.. I think it'll be
cool showig up in my REAL roadster and hoping into theirs...betcha theirs
doesn't have flames!!!
My 'appointment' for the autocross school is the 18th at 3:30pm.
This appointment is for me + one guest. Now Irene is slated to go but she is
not sure if she can get it off of work. Don't know if I want her to learn
'high performance' driving anyways. I can just see her now, passenger seat
driving...'Now honey, I think you could of trail braked a little later into
that
corner...'
Since she is not sure if she can make it, I am tentativly inviting
anyone from the local area to come along with me(that would be jsut one
person). Its at a weird time, for
sure, but what the heck...I plan on playing hooky and making a day out of it.

I think it travels around the country so those of you not near SF should give a
