Front Bearings & Brake pads '69 2000

Am doing a complete brake job on my '69 2000

Couple of questions.

1. Do the front wheel bearing races have to be prssed in by machine or can
it be done by hand ?

2. Whats the best way to open up the front calipers to get the new thicker
brake pads in ?

any help would be apreciated
