You must have flunked Physics 101. See the reply from DAT2000srl@aol.com -  he 
got it
right. The torque/clamping force relationship is not affected the thread pitch. 
The amount
of work performed when advancing a load up an inclined plane is determined by 
the total
height the load is raised - a finer pitch thread (shallower angle on the 
inclined plane)
results in a longer trip (horizontal displacement when you're talking about the 
inclined
plane, # of turns on a screw) to achieve the same result.
