The difference in cost is substantial. The canvas can cost 3 or 4 times
what the vinyl costs. Here in the southeast, the top shops tell me that the
vinyl is just as durable. Canvas fades, shrinks and tears just as much as
vinyl does - some are better than others in that respect, but it depends on
the care given. The decision is usually driven by budget of the owner.
Don't get me wrong, I love the look of the canvas top, but the cost is
enough to cause a second look at the vinyl for many owners - including
myself.
