Chris, if the backing plate can be removed
would you see any difference on the impeller?
I know that this has been a problem on some
L-series waterpumps if the impeller is made
from stamped sheetmetal or a real casting.
The stamped sheetmetal type has not been
okay on high output L-series engines.
