Marko,
I believe that the bonnet release cable has to be JUST right in
adjustment to allow correct opening and latching of the mechanism.
Try clamping the cable back in its original position, if you can, and
take it from there.
The grease stain usually appears after VERY SPIRITED DRIVING.
My 510 sills and doors were coated with grease streaks after a day
doing 5 lap sprints at Mallala Motorsport Park here in Adelaide.
My guess is that either your grease ahs a too low temp. rating or a
wheel bearing is overheating and thinning the grease.
Either way it should not be losing grease.

A couple of hopefully easy ones.

I can not get my bonnet latch to keep the bonnet
closed. I've adjusted everything movable to the n:th
degree and it still opens after driving for a few
minutes. All I can think of is to replace the springs
inside the latch mechanism itself to ensure it bites
into the post more tightly to lock. Any suggestions
anyone.

My front wheels gets covered in grease form the centre
hub when I drive. what's going on here and what do I
do about it?

Thanks

Marko
