I'd add the following to Pat's comments.

If you're running solid core spark plug wires, you may not be able to get
rid of the noise. I've used both NGK and Bosch noise suppression plug wires
with good results. Look for low resistance, spiral wound plug wire, use
resistor type spark plugs and make sure your distributor cap and rotor are
in good condition.
