I just bought one, having been the main Taco Plate at a Mosquito Mexican
All-You-Can-Eat buffet. The little buggers devoured me and patently ignored
everyone else around me.

The trap has been operational since last week and it has caught ~some~, but the
book and cd both state that placement is CRITICAL. Much has to do with the
prevailing wind and where people congregate. It's not very effective upwind of
it, as it relies on the skeeters smelling the C02 and heading to the trap to be
vacuumed into a trap where they dehycrate. The book does state that it takes a
few weeks before the breeding cycle will be affected enough to make a
difference.

Plants, shrubs, potted plants with the water dishes below, are all good places
for the skeeters to lay eggs and "hang around". While standing water is the
most common, ponds whether natural or not also tend to be good places for them
to do their water nymph stage. Fish do eat a lot of them, but that's the reason
they lay eggs in such large groups, the fish don't eat ALL of them. Those that
aren't eaten, if the Theory of Evolution is correct, are either the luckier ones
or the smarter and more adroit ones. In either case, I just want them gone.

I have noticed that I'm not as "Hot" a Taco as I was before it's arrival.
Either they got their fill or I gave them indigestion (Poisoned maybe?? I
wish!), or it's doing something.

The main problem with PolyEthylene plastic, and more so with HDPE (High Density
PE) is that it doesn't accept many other materials bonding to it. This makes it
difficult to repair without using heat. The other problem is that the heat band
at which the plastic is malleable without melting is narrow.

Knowing this, I've effected some good non-permanent repairs on it with JB Weld.
Not pretty, but functional even if only for a while.
