after seeming to run just fine a few weeks, my roadster (early 67 1600)
seems suddenly to be way off.

i say this because when starting it is hard to get going, and then idles
very, very roughly, with ocasional backfires through the carbs. note: i'm
still in the process of assembly, and don't have the choke cables hooked up
yet.

but in the last two months i've been "exercising" it on a regular basis, and
it appeared to be running just fine.

it has a philips screw on the base, and this was set full advance. i set it
to full retard, and that helped noticably, but i'm still not there. before
i did this, it would just barely run, and feathering the accelerator helped,
but only to keep it running. it didn't get and acceleration. now i get a
little acceleration.

i looked at this diagram,

http://www.311s.org/tech/parts/03Electrical.pdf

but i am still confused as to how to rotate the distributor.

or is there something else amiss that i am overlooking?
