Hello folks,

I'm at the bodywork stage of my very long restoration project on
SPL27750. Several years ago and soon after mounting the body on my home
made rotary I was preparing to rotate the body from the horizontal
position just as a friend showed up. Instead of doing the rotation
myself (which I had done many times at this point) I asked him to hold
the body in the level position while I removed the front and back safety
pins from the rotary. If I do the move myself I use adjustable straps on
both door supports which keep's the body in position. After removing the
pins I use a chain hoist to swivel or raise the body to the desired
position and insert the pins. Just after removing the pins (straps
removed) my friend decides to let go of the body and it swings towards
the floor and passes through at least 110 degrees rotation, slamming the
top edge of the windshield frame into the cement floor. The frame looks
to be cocked 1.5 inches towards the passenger side. Has anyone had to
deal with this situation (structural problem not my friend) or am I the
only idiot out here?

As for my friend, what do you say? I told him not worry about it and
that it was a quick fix. He's not mechanically inclined and it was my
fault for even asking him to assist.
