As y'all probably know, Chris Bond passed away recently and since I was a good
friend, the family has asked me to help find a good home for his 67.5 SPL
(converted to U20 5 speed) and his 1972 510.
I have set up a page on my web site which will be available only by the link I
am providing, with pictures and a description of the cars and the trailer,
kindly provided by Lee Ehinger, who drove up to Shelbyville Indiana to look at
the cars for us. Chris wanted these cars to go to Datsun enthusiasts if at all
possible, so I am posting this to the Datsun Roadster AUTOX.TEAM.NET list. I
am not a member of the 510 list, so if someone would be nice enough to post
this there, that would be great. Also, if someone who is active on the
311s.org forum would do the same there, it would be helpful, so we can get the
word out to our entire community.
This is not a commercial venture, I am doing this for the family for free.
We decided a timed auction would be the best way to get the most money for the
family, while giving the community a chance to bid & buy if they wish. I will
be taking bids at my private e-mail address roadsterdude1600@yahoo.com until
midnight on 11/22/2008, and I will put the successful bidders in touch with
Chris's brother, Victor Bond to arrange payment and pick up in Shelbyville
Indiana where the cars and the trailer are located. I will update the page once
each day with the current "high bids" on the items. If there is a lot of
competition, I will also contact the interested bidders as the sale is coming
to a close. We can play that part by ear.
Victor has set some reserve prices which are posted. If for some reason those
reserves are not met, I will give him the names of the interested parties below
the reserves, and let him take it from there.
