"Cables" for a converible top. After fastening the top onto the posts  
and twisties, there are two large clips, one on either side internally  
behind the doors, that are slid into clamps. These large clips are  
attached to spring cables that pull the fabric tight around the  
windows, providing proper tension to seal the space between the top  
and the windows. You may be able to buy these from some of our vendors  
if your top is missing them.

If your rear plastic windows are hazy from old age or are torn, you  
can take your top to a shop to have the plastic window material  
replaced. Do not cut out the plastic window yourself, leave it in  
place. The shop will use the old material as a template to sew in the  
new plastic. Otherwise, the top might not fit correctly after the  
repair. I've taken mine to a shop that repaired MG's and other  
European ragtops. Of course there's nothing better than a new top, but  
this could save a couple hundred dollars if money is scarce.
