The female end has a groove in the metal fitting. A u-shaped clip slides into
the groove and makes contact with the body mounted bracket to hold the hose in
place. If you have undercoating, it may be gummed up and hard to slide free
but, they're usually not too hard to remove.

I'm re-doing the brakes on a 1969 2000 and need advice for removing
the rear rubber brake hose. I have disconnected the solid line but am
having trouble removing the female end of the rubber hose from the upper
bracket that fastens to the shock absorber mount. It is held by some
sort of clip that I can wiggle but I can't see how it unclips to release
the hose connector. It's quite corroded and I'm afraid of twisting it
off or breaking the bracket. I have a new hose so I don't care if it
gets damaged in the process. Any suggestions?

Thanks, Bruce
