Cast Iron if memory serves... And I think they changed to aluminum during the 
tr-3 run.

Hi,
     I've got a vague memory that early TR-2's used different
pedestals from the later cars, and that the cold valve clearances
were different on those cars, due to the different rates of thermal
expansion.  However, I don't think that I've ever seen those early
pedestals, so I don't know what they were made of.
