... NOT YET.

But I suspect that I might. I'm hoping not - one disaster, and my racing
plans are "torpedoed".

I have heard of folks having problems with the inner axle flanges
breaking, but I think this was related to early axles... however, I just
looked at the TRF TR6 Parts Book, and I see that all the inner axle part
numbers are the same on both sides.

Hmmm.

Maybe we're just a too bit hard with the clutch???

How much power are you making??

Maybe we need to talk to Mr. Warner about what parts the GP44/Newman car
was using.

Bill???

Failing that approach, I think you should be looking at x-raying the
parts prior to assembly and possibly doing some sort of treatment to make
'em a bit tougher. Anybody ever nitride axles????

p.s. I've been meaning to drop you a line and congratulate you on using a
TR6 for road racing - very good taste, laddy. You might also try to
contact Sam Halkias and see what he's doing. I did notice that his axles
and stuff looked stock, but I didn't get to question him much when I met
him a the Runoffs in '97. Something about rebuilding the front suspension on
the 37 car... Hi Chip! Sam H. had an address that was something like
tr6racer@aol.com... anybody got Sam's address?? If we (collectively) find
it, we should make him an FOT too. He seems to still be racing his TR6, I
saw his name listed in an SCCA publication - although they incorrectly
listed his car as a Spitifire - ummm I don't think so. At least not in EP!
