I took the dimensions given in the Moss catalog and have had no problems
with the conversion on my TR3A.

The snout (front cover) dimensions provided by Moss are as follows

TR2-4 (Spring Clutch)           2 3/8 inches
TR4A    (diaphragm clutch)      1 31/32 inches
