Hi all,
Many of you asked about Triumphest and the schedule of events, etc.

Mel Hildebrandt is the coordinator and sent me the following update.(See the B
OLD below). Hope many of you can make it....it's always a fun time. There are
MANY concurrent auto/airshow/navy fleet events going on concurrent to
Triumphest which should have a front row seat for the Miramar/Fleet
airshow(Top Gun school and where the movie was filmed) over the San Diego
bay. The Vintage exhibits downtown are worth the price of admission....Joanne
and I have gone to this several years in a row now.

No slalom at TRiumphest per se, as was mentioned, but our own Joe Curry has
been digging into the local SCCA event (30 minutes from the AAAA hotel
grounds - which has a great rate locked in) and maybe Joe could give us an
update.

Check out the website..... they are giving away a TR2000 and sounds like
there will be a bit of something for everyone within a 30 minute drive of the
event...why not make it a family vacation for three or four days of TR's -
jet planes - and scenic fun for the family?....

.... Not to mention some real face time with the TR Top Gun man himself -
Kas. That ought to be worth the price of admission alone....smile.

Hope this helps.

Hi Bill,

Sorry for the delay in responding but I have been traveling. To your
questions:

1. Just published web site is
    http://clubs.hemmings.com/sandiegotriumph/.
This has all the latest information about the club and Triumphest.

2. We don't have a slalom planned due to distance/expense/land owner refusal.
Typical excuses. However, SCCA Solo II will be going on at Qualcomm stadium
on Saturday, which is about 30 minutes from the host hotel. A fellow on the
Triumph version of the autox.team.net list (Joe Curry) wants to slalom his
Spit something awful. He is checking into the possibility of establishing a
historic class for interested parties. I told him that I would provide time
during the awards banquet if he is able to get something going.

edit

Regards,
Mel
