Hi Frank!

I think the issue with the post-'72 cars is that they were starting to develop
more modern technology and people (and companies sponsoring race teams) were
starting to have more disposable income to put into them -- read "higher level
of preparation."  They have more power and handle better, so they were no
competition for us "lesser-developed" cars.  I think that is why they are
considered separately from the pre-'72's.  I know Corinthians (the vintage group
at Texas World Speedway in College Station) allows cars up to 1974, but they
must comply (backdate) to the 1972 GCR car preparation guide they use.

Anyone correct me if I am wrong!
