I'm sure you are correct. The first part is definitely Marlboro. The corner
leading into the well banked oval is indeed "Cappy's " corner so named for a
gentleman whose full name was Capiello and who was the first of the Wash. DC
SCCA club to roll a car there. At that time the club members called
themselves "The Lavender Hill Mob" after an English movie of that name and
the grandstands were painted purple!
When exiting the oval you dropped about 15 ft. and immediately went in to a
quick left/right bend called (oddly enough) The Chicane. About 100yds further
on you encountered a sharp left known as the Hairpin. This is the area on the
film where the metal fence is on the right side of the track. Out of the
hairpin you entered the main straight. It had a small kink but as you were
still accelerating you could straighten it out at full throttle. In a TR3 you
could almost touch 100mph before you braked for the next corner, a left
hander with no name (or at least I don't remember a name). From there a short
straight and two lefts which were called the boot. The first turn was the
heel and the second the toe. Another short straight and an unnamed right,
then the second longest straight back to Cappy's corner. The start/finish
line was on the front straight of the oval in front of the purple
grandstands. There was a similar track at Vineland, NJ.
