Somewhere in the back of my mind is a notion that the richening device on
SU carbs does not affect all cylinders equally.

The carbs are HS6 with SM needles, The exhaust is a header with 2.25 inch
pipe. If something is blocked it would have to be in the header or it
would affect all cylinders? I have changed last fall to an impeller style
electric fuel pump, but again that serves both carbs and all four
