Thanks to everyone for your suggestions and comments.
To answer some:
1) There is no PCV valve or gulp valve, the car is early production, May
1965, and may have been backdated to earlier spec. It has a 3A valve cover
cap which breathes, and the downward facing crankcase breather.
2) The car starts easily and seems to pull pretty strongly.
3) I don't have to worry about the legality of oversize valves as I do Solo 1,
not vintage racing, I take 1 prep point for the mod and thats it. I didn't
think of angling the valves, I'm not nearly clever enough to get the correct
rocker geometry anyway. I have heard of cracking problems with TR6 motors but
the amount of material in the 4 cylinder head and the fact that I am at 9.8
compression for 91/92 octane gas (street car) should keep stress reasonable.
I agree the benefit is not likely great but at least 2/3 of the valve
circumference does not appear shrouded so I hope for some gain. I dynoed 91
rwhp and 110 ft.lbs rwtq with the smaller valves, we'll see this spring if it
helped!
Thanks again, Simon.
