Two answers in one....

My TR4A uses both the Pertronix module and the oil filter adaptor.

1) Installing the Pertronix module reytarded my timing enough that I had to
loosen the distributor and retime the car; i.e. it was outside the range of
adjustment provided by the knurled adfjuster on the side.

2) I have an oil cooler with spin-on filter adaptor ( possibly from Moss),
which takes a 3600 filter. Since this fits Escort 1.9 and 3.0 litre Ford
Taurus it is widely available in different brands. I have found no change in
oil pressure and no problems of any kind, using the car for street and track
days ( Solo1 ).
