Rich,

I don't plan on concouring my Stag, but I would be willing to help
out on the hillclimb. And I hold a National F&C license.

Amici,

It looks like the event will happen! A few weeks ago, the guys at TRF
called to ask me if I would help them put the Hillclimb together. (They
know that
I am a regular at Pennsylvania Hillclimb Association events). On Thursday
afternoon, I met with John Swauger, Dave Hagenbuch and Charles Runyan. We
went
to the hill (which is part of the university grounds), walked it, drove it a
few times, and talked about safety and logistics.

There are many details to be worked out, but some things are quite clear
now.
The course, which is a tree-lined, smooth blacktop two-lane road about 6/10
mile in length (and not at all steep), will require workers at 5 corner
stations in addition to start and finish lines.

The event will run on Friday, August 8. First car off no later than noon.
Hill setup will start around 9:30, registration and tech around 10:30. When
it
ends depends on how many people enter. We hope to finish around 4pm to give
everyone a chance to get cleaned up and head to the dragstrip. Schedule
subject to change. Some things may need to happen earlier.

There will be slight overlap between the hillclimb and the Friday morning
VTR
concours at TRF, but anyone who shows up at the hill before 2 or 2:30pm
will
get to run. Details such as run order, heats, classes, etc. will be
decided
once we have some idea how many cars plan to run.

Who wants to be a part of this? We need start line, finish line and corner
workers. Also, people to help with hill setup (which will mostly involve
placing haybales) registration and timing. I might need a couple guys to
help with
tech inspection (please don't everyone volunteer for that :-))

For now, it looks like there will NOT be any spectator areas on the hill, so
the corner workers will have the best view of the action. And working the
event, in whatever capacity, won't keep you from entering. Trust me, all
workers
will get to make their runs.

If not enough FOT volunteer, I will solicit help from the "big" list. I
would, however, like to keep it "in the family".

Thanks!

Rich Rock
