Recommendations Wanted - Cleaning Oxidization from Plastic Tail

       I have tried both a very mild rubbing compound and chrome cleaner, 
neither of which remove enough of the oxidation layer to restore the red, 
yellow, 
or white to reasonably close to the GT6's original colors. Has anyone found 
something that works for removing the oxidation or is it better to just find a 
good set of replacement lenses for the (1973) GT6?
