I have done fairly well selling chrome plated battery tie downs for TR6s and
Spitfires on ebay. The problem is that the available stock of cores to clean
up and chrome is not good. Battery acid, rust etc.
So I have found a shop that will take black iron, cut and duplicate the
bends I need to shape the tie down. I then drill the holes and take this
clean metal to the chrome shop. The chrome shop now has nice material to
work with. I am using aftermarket "J" hooks which are not quite factory but
are still very nice. The finished product looks good and is an easy way to
dress up your Triumph. I am in the middle of a 40 piece production run.
