This may be a matter for a UK historian but I am not aware that the name
Southern Cross was ever applied to anything but open sports models.

"SX" doesn't sound familiar.

I have driven a 4-seat Southern Cross of about 1934-35 which had a tall,
vertical radiator with a very small round Southern Cross emblem. I have seen
both 4 and 6 cylinder Gloria Southern Cross sports cars which had larger
emblems.

Higher performance Gloria sedans were called "Vitesse". Probably that later
30s Dolomites used that name as well.

Hi All,

Not a competition question. If any of you are Triumph "Southern Cross"
experts, do you know if there was a badge on the car saying "Southern
Cross", or simply "SX"?

As I understand pre-WWII Triumph history, there were "Southern Cross"
editions of their model 6, 8, 10 and Gloria cars, which had sportier
tendencies than their stock stablemates. I'm trying to determine if this
difference was readily available to the observer.

If there was a badge, where could I obtain a repro? (Originals would cost a
mint if they could be found!)

Thanks in advance,
