At the Sebring 50th Anniversary race in 2002, a couple of teenagers tried to
walk off with the steering wheel from my Dad's car. Luckily, the guys in
the next paddock space helped chase them down and corral them until security
arrived. Now he sticks anything that might "walk away" in the trailer if
he's going to be away from the car.
