Draining the radiator will get rid of electrolyte solution.  In long term 
situations using a Zinc sacrificial anode in the radiator could help.  There is 
a company making these..."Radcap"  perhaps if you google it you will find out.  
As I recall if you have a sensitive enough volt meter you can measure the 
galvanic potential if you put one probe in the coolant solution and the other 
on the block.  I have never done this personally.  It is not worth the time 
save for a science experiment.
