It's getting crazy expensive for some things, way beyond any general  
inflation. Racing brake pads have gone from 75 bucks to 300. Ball and  
roller bearings are astronomical. Used to be that I'd take my  
bearings to the local bearing supply house and get way better  
bearings for half or less of the money than "official" parts. Now  
they're the same price (still worth doing though because the quality  
is better).
