This will work, but, it's not the best method.  The rocker shaft and 
valve positions are fixed.  For the optimum rocker nose contact with the 
valve stem head, the distance between the rocker bore center and the 
contact point of the nose should also remain fixed.  There's also the 
additional problem of weakening the stock rocker by additional boring. 


Ideally, the ratio should be increased by decreasing the bore center to 
pushrod point, because that end of the rocker is made to operate with 
some misalignment.  This could be accomplished by overdrilling, 
rethreading and inserting a flanged, threaded plug, staking that, then 
drilling and tapping for the necessary offset.  The same proviso about 
weakening the rocker at a stress point still applies.
