But it might wear out the threads after several use.

I made a cleaning bolt once but I don't use it anymore.
I took a bolt and cut notches along the thread like on a tap.
I run the bolt into the hole and the in the notches the dirt is collected.
It is more easy on the threads than a tap.

But in my case gasket remover does it well.

I just run a tap thru and Bob's your Uncle. No fuss no muss...

Grind off the tip of an old one for bottom end applications.
