Check the runout in the distributor--nothing fancy, just wiggle the shaft with
the rotor off. Put a good timing light on the thing and rev it to the point it
starts to miss. You'll probably see light start to get irregular if it's a
spark problem. Check your condensor--common problem these days, they all suck.
A condenser with the enamel cleaned off and the grounding lug soldered to the
case and a ten buck coil might fix everything.

 I dimly recall a quick and dirty cam timing check that uses overlap, but if
the engine starts and runs your cam timing probably isn't too bad.
