You do have to pressurize the sump cannister, that's what partially what
forces the
oil into the engine. I've done it without disassembly with mineral spirits &
poured
remnance through white paper towels watching for clean & clear fluid to run
out.
You can disassemble them and clean it yourself.
You just need to fabricate a simple tool with a couple dowels to screw the end
of the sump off.
A handle of sorts ( steel flat bar ) with tow dowels ( or bolts
)B perpendicular to the handle
with the correct spacing between them.

the engine. I also pulled the 3 quart Accusump to send back for refurbishing.
Maybe I should have looked at that sooner. There was more sludge in the tank
than I would have guessed. So... is that a regular maintenance item we should
be
looking at? Another question, there is a relief valve (like a tire stem) I
bled
too. There was a bit of air and pressure still in the unit when I drained but
before I purged the air.
When the tank returns, is it self pressurizing? Do we actually put a small
amount of air pressure in the tank?
Curious...

You know, sometimes you read a post and the "the light comes on".
I pulled my TR6 engine to fix an oil leak, blah blah. All fixed and
reinstalled.
I run an event last weekend. No probs. Just a couple of drips from the oil
filter head.
So, I do my fluids-check and nutnboltcheck and the engine is down a quart. I
look EVERYWHERE for evidence of an oil leak. I figure being down a quart is a
lot considering that I made three 60-second autocross runs, so there sould be
a
giant puddle in the trailer or a lot of oil on the frame - nope. nothing. no
puddles, no drips.
Doh - I forgot that I had purged the oil cooler lines!
Question answered.
