To be clear... I have a very nice set of MR. Pauters rods (TR6).  Well made and 
functional.  Not one complaint.

I have different Rods for Tr4.

For the benefit of the unwashed, were the "negative comments" you refer to 
related to Pauter rods or to 7 inch rods (in general)?

I tend towards the comment referring to the rodd length, but I just wanted 
to be sure.
