Seems I have a Habit of sharing my stupidity with your folks...
Cranked the race car up to set the timing back before we went to Maxton on
the 5th.... and after I put some heat in it I was raising the idle to set
the timing... obviously without ear plugs or protection.... in any case I
got my right ear.
Been bothering me for the last two weeks and I have an appointment on
Thrusday to see exactly what damage I did.... but I already know it ain't
good.
20 years of Flying helicopters and playing with Hot Rods... well my hearing
wasn't the greatest to start with.... and I knew better ... So the moral to
the story is to wear some hearing protection whenever you start these
things.... even if it's just for a Min.... much better then feeling
stupid.....
I think I am going to buy a case of those soft ear plugs and keep them with
me in the pits... that way I can actually help some others prevent what I
just did.
