Hello to all on the list.
Some of us in Britain couldn't make it to Maxton, but well done to all who
ran fast there.
Three Americans who did not make it either were here in "the old Country"
visiting - Jack (nt788) and Keiko Costella and George (4 x 200 Clubs)
Potter. They kindly spent time talking into the early hours about car
rules and record breaking in the USA with me, in between visiting a
classic motor race meeting at Goodwood, car museums and aircraft
collections here in Britain.
They chose a narrow boat for transport during part of their stay, one of
the slowest methods of travelling in Britain.
Whilst in Derbyshire Jack spent time looking over Formula 1 cars in the
Donington Collection - cars that contain high technology and seem to absorb
almost obscene sums of money whether dollars or pounds sterling. Racing
that makes the NHRA look poor relations !!
No record breaking news in Britain at the moment.
Malcolm Pittwood, Derby, England.
