Does anyone on the list run a large 4 stroke pushrod engine on nitrous? I'm
looking for a small kit that will provide a 25-50 horse shot for a 1275cc
Healey engine with a side draft Weber, hot street cam and 10:1 comp. The
motor makes decent power up to about 3500 - 4000 but flattens out at wot in
every gear. Feels like it has a lot more breathing capability than the power
suggests; mixture is right on the money, no detonation, and no stumbling from
idle to wot. Just the gut feeling that it can easily stand another 25 hp
without blowing up.
That in mind, I think it would be a good candidate for the
bottle, but would like to hear from others who have gone before me....
I've tried different curves, compression ratios, jets, header lengths,
cam grinds and the like... After feeling that awesome kick in the butt the
first time the 200 hp nitrous shot kicked in on my drag car, and the steering
became infinitely light to the touch as the front tires skipped along the
asphalt...... well, it started me thinking....
     Suggestions/comments welcome. Thanks
