Hi Everyone,
Gary and I are building a flathead powered modified roadster so I guess we do
have a vested interest here. I would think right now the French engines should
not be allowed for at least one year until some are out there and the
advantages are proved or disproved. I do believe there are some differences
and it is yet to be seen whether there is any preformance advantage. Phil

    I believe that the sentiment amongst the Vintage Engine Group was pretty 
much against allowing the newfound Flatty blocks when a poll was taken.
    It's my understanding that the rules committee is just about to or just 
has met to vote on changes such as additional body classes and the Flatty 
block question.
    I was evidently in the minority supporting allowing them to run. To me 
they offered no particular advantage, and, sooner or later will be the only 
blocks available to the Flatty racers.............Ardun Doug King
