Eyston's wheel layout can be deceiving . . . it was an eight-wheeled
monster. Two sets of front wheels staggered and 4 in the rear -- like
dually truck has today. Further, most all of his runs resulted in
blown tires(Dunlops), a fact he deliberately lied about publicly.

thunderbolt  was the last "monster car" built with theidea that heavy
is better -- until Noble's SSC which needed every gram of its 10 tons
at Mach one to stay stable.
